Introduction

This is the most extensive route proposed and it unfolds like a true discovery loop between the Dolomites, Valcellina and Carnia. The route alternates between scenic descents, lakes with emerald waters, mountain villages and steady climbs on excellent road surfaces. An ideal solution for those who want to spend the entire day in the saddle, without giving up evocative stops and a pleasant pace.

The route

➤ San Vito di Cadore → Longarone

The start is from the Dolomiti Sport Hotel. The first few kilometres lead towards Longarone, with a scenic descent towards Valbelluna and the opportunity to stop at a symbolic site of Vajont remembrance.

➤ Longarone → Valcellina → Cimolais

The road enters increasingly wild nature, between rock faces and turquoise waters. Cimolais is a small alpine village ideal for a short stop.

Cimolais to Barcis

You reach Lake Barcis, perfect for a photo stop thanks to the emerald colour of the water and the very scenic natural surroundings.

➤ Barcis → Tolmezzo

The route continues towards Tolmezzo, the main centre of Carnia, which is ideal for a lunch break and to recharge your batteries before the second part of the tour.

➤ Tolmezzo → Passo Mauria

You climb again towards the Mauria Pass, with wide bends, smooth riding and a generally very good road surface.

➤ Mauria Pass → Lorenzago di Cadore → Pieve di Cadore

Back in Veneto, the journey continues through woods and pastures towards Lorenzago and then Pieve di Cadore, which offers a pleasant cultural or gastronomic stop.

Pieve di Cadore to San Vito

The final kilometres lead back to San Vito di Cadore, completing a large and very varied loop.
